I develop websites, WordPress themes and provide advice and training on managing your website including optimising for search engines, design and style guidelines, technical support and server management and software updates.

A typical website

We sketch page layouts over coffee while I introduce my self and [my work]. I explain the terms of payment - net zero - I am unable to offer credit and always receive payment for 8 hours in advance, on a rolling basis - when it runs out you pay me again. I am a pay as you go web professional.

My intention is for us to have equal stakes in the direction of the project, which should be the most effective approach that either of us can think of. If we both agree to proceed I will ask for payment upfront before I start work, at which point I will effectively be on your payroll, a hired expert ready to see your project through to completion.

Good communication is essential on both ends throughout the process. I am available to you by email, telephone and in person by arrangement.

Then what?

So we have the paper sketches and have agreed to start working together. Probably you will need to gather images and text, as well as any existing design material that the website should integrate with - a business card or brochure for example that represents any design choices I will need to follow along with.

At the end of the project I hope to be in credit by a few hours- this allows me to continue to offer support and any updates that are needed without the overhead of invoicing for small amounts - like a retainer but without the monthly fee.
